Real-Time Scour Monitoring for Minnesota Bridges

Project Summary:

Scour monitoring equipment was installed on two Minnesota bridges as part of the Center for Transportation Studies (CTS) project: "Scour Monitoring Technology Implementation." In addition to installation, the systems were administered to ensure continued operation. This administration included setting up automated alerts, logging data, completing required software and hardware modifications, overall system maintenance and quality control, and brief yearly reporting. The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) has requested that the University of Minnesota continue administration for these two systems and other similar scour monitoring systems installed in the state.
