Panos Michalopoulos has more than 30 years of experience in traffic engineering, management, operations and control. His main research areas include modeling of traffic flow dynamics, traffic flow theory, traffic simulation and control, and the development of advanced traffic management systems.
Transportation research at the University of Minnesota covers the spectrum from basic to applied research, drawing on the many transportation-related disciplines within the University. The Center actively supports the formation of multidisciplinary research teams.
