Pamela J. Snopl, CTS managing editor, leads activities that ensure quality and innovation in CTS communication programs and products. In this role she plans, guides, and evaluates communications products and programs, and provides oversight and guidance as a member of the group management team for the Communications and Information Group.
Snopl also writes and edits a number of print and electronic publications for CTS and its programs, including theCTS Report monthly newsletter and the quarterly LTAP Technology Exchange.
Snopl has more than 20 years of experience writing and editing a variety of publications, including research reports and other technical documents, handbooks and manuals, annual reports, newsletters, events proceedings, posters and marketing materials, and brochures. In addition, she has extensive project management and supervisory experience, plus strong knowledge of the transportation field.
Snopl was one of the earliest employees at CTS. She joined the staff part time in 1989, splitting her position with another center, the Underground Space Center in the Department of Civil and Mineral Engineering. As CTS communications needs expanded, Snopl became a full-time employee and oversaw the development of a multifaceted publications team.
Before joining the University, Snopl was a technical writer for Sperry Corporation (now Unisys). She holds a bachelor’s of arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with a major in political science and additional coursework in journalism and computer science. She is a member of the University of Minnesota’s Communicators Forum.
