Training opportunities provided for tribal nations

Traffic on a paved road on the White Earth Reservation

The Minnesota Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP), administered by CTS, made funding available in FY23 for Minnesota public works personnel who are members of a tribal nation or who work for a tribal nation. The funding covered registration fees for Minnesota LTAP-hosted workshops, events, and online courses.

Two people participated—one from Red Lake Nation and one from White Earth Reservation. The pilot phase of the program ended in June, and funding will continue to be offered in FY24.

The program is part of CTS’s commitment to address the historic and contemporary inequities built into our existing transportation system.
